How will you communicate?
How will I communicate in the next twenty, thirty years? Communicating is something I have always done. Up to last year, though, everything happened in a rather automatic and almost unconscious way. Throughout this long period of pandemic, I have been able to understand that in fact, as an artist, I regularly force myself to have occasional moments of self-isolation to search for a more intimate, inward dimension. It is an experience I would definitely like to carry on delving into.
Another aspect has been the one linked to the possibility of communicating, in spite of everything, and artists in particular have been able to continue doing it thanks to modern instruments of communication. Although they are alternative and surrogate measures, they have represented the only way to express things that would otherwise have remained undisclosed.
I hope that a responsible use of these means of communication through the propagation of contents of value and not only of pure entertainment can somehow enhance our experience as inhabitants of a system that we cannot actually control, no matter how big our efforts are.
It is a form of respect. That’s it, the one thing I will remember to convey, to communicate is an absolute respect for what I am, for what I intend to do and, above all, for the environment I live in, which otherwise fights back!
Through a higher level of awareness, which I believe we have all acquired, and a more ethical use of the instruments our society has made available, we can really believe in a better future than the conditions we have now been living in for a year.
