“Comunicazione. Le porte di Cittadellarte”, the new Pistoletto exhibition in Turin
The new exhibition of the artist from Biella opens on Thursday 18th October at 18.00 at the Persano Gallery and at the former factory Pastiglie Leone. Let’s find out the details of the show.

To celebrate a relationship started almost 50 years ago, Michelangelo Pistoletto opens at the Giorgio Persano Gallery an exhibition developing along two lines: a big conceptual installation fully occupying its space at via Principessa Clotilde 45 and a display of Mirror Paintings in the adjacent former factory Pastiglie Leone, at corso Regina Margherita 242.

The exhibition, the result of a collaboration between Cittadellarte and the Turin gallery, will run from 18th October 2018 (the date of the opening at 18.00) to 26th January 2019.

Visiting the exhibition, we see that the Giorgio Persano Gallery space is occupied by an installation which is a tribute to human industriousness and a strong declaration of intent by Pistoletto. It is a wooden structure articulated in 17 open areas representing the different sectors of society. These cells, even if independent, are part of a single organism and, interconnected, compose the system joining art and society.

The exhibition continues in the former factory Pastiglie Leone, a historical landmark of Turin’s industry. In this space, human relationships are presented from a more contemporary perspective through a series of Mirror Paintings, fixing fragments of daily conversations mediated by digital devices. “The subjects represented – we read in the press release – seem to isolate themselves in their gestures, leading the spectator to pursue a dialogue with them even more. Pistoletto’s art develops therefore into communication, through both an architectual-symbolic-conceptual construct and sequences of images representing the present, the time”.

Exhibition’s opening hours: Giorgio Persano Gallery, from Tuesday to Saturday from 10.00 to 13.00 and from 15.30 to 19.00 (or by appointment); former factory Pastiglie Leone, from Tuesday to Saturday from 15.30 to 19.00 (or by appointment).
