What will you believe in?
A story that teaches children and grown-ups about equality and love for differences. A message conveyed with as much simplicity as effectiveness. Can a simple small dot transmit emotions and promote values? The story proposed by Daniela Di Gennaro, Il Puntino – edizione illustrata, makes us believe it can. A few pages of illustrations and a few sentences contrive to outline, through an unusual language, an allegorical vision of the contemporary world and of the migration phenomena. “Today, I’m suggesting an activity starting from one of the most beautiful illustrated books I’ve ever read,” the Rebirth/Third Paradise ambassadress wrote, “its story has deeply moved me because it manages to explain the importance of hospitality using simple dots. It’s wonderful!”. Daniela Di Gennaro also presents a variation of the story inspired by Michelangelo Pistoletto’s sign-symbol: “Samuele (my son) and I,” she added, “had fun trying to create another version of the story, in which two opposite elements find a balance in the middle, drawing two symbols representing harmony: the Third Paradise and the Yin and Yang (black-white), according to which, given two opposite elements, one can’t exist without the other”.
