“Fashion for Planet Open Parliament”, Cittadellarte and the National Chamber of Italian Fashion are back to give voice to the rights of nature
On 22 February, Fondazione Pistoletto’s Fashion B.E.S.T. and CNMI will propose the third act of the event as part of "Milan Fashion Week". From 11.00 am to 5.30 pm, Palazzo Giureconsulti will host an immersive audiovisual experience that will give participants the opportunity to listen to nature through an artistic language.

Milan is tinged with sustainable fashion, art and creativity thanks to a new collaboration between Cittadellarteand the National Chamber of Italian Fashion. The two organisations have in fact planned the third edition of the Fashion for Planet Open Parliament for Thursday 22 February as part of Milan Fashion Week, following the success of the first one staged on 23 February 2023 (click here for more information) and the second on 20 September (full details in a previous article). The initiative, open to the public, will once again be held in Palazzo Giureconsulti’s Sala Parlamentino, maintaining the same objective, but changing form: in the two previous editions, the rights of nature were voiced through a mosaic of speeches by figures from different professional backgrounds and generations who had touched on different themes in the world of fashion, including transparency and traceability, regulations and greenwashing, as well as the role of companies’ sustainability managers and that of buyers; whereas next week’s appointment will echo nature through a special audiovisual experience: from 11.00 am to 5.30 pm, the doors of the Sala Parlamentino will open to a sort of natural sanctuary where visitors will find themselves immersed in various themed environments thanks to the behind-the-scenes work of Cittadellarte Fashion B.E.S.T. and GARN – Global Alliance for the Rights of Nature.

“Come and listen to the voice of nature: our voice,” said the organisers, “through a fusion of nature sounds and human voices, the event encourages active participation and reflection on how fashion becomes an emotional artistic expression, with the view to promoting a profound dialogue with the planet and nature itself. The installation emphasises the importance of recognising the intrinsic connection between human beings and the rest of life on Earth as if they were one thing, inviting everyone to take part in a global conversation. The surprises don’t end here: on 25 February, from 10.30 am to 6.30 pm, the Sala Parlamentino will also host a capsule collection of Fashion to Reconnect (all the details will be announced soon), an exhibition first shown last June at Cittadellarte on the occasion of Arte al Centro. “Both events – reads the presentation – embody Fondazione Pistoletto’s commitment to a more conscious and harmonious future, in which fashion becomes a means for the positive transformation of society and the planet. A not-to-be-missed opportunity to be part of this revolution in fashion and art”.

The programme of the day and the list of special guests will be announced in the next few days, stay tuned!
