“Caravan residency program: Thinking with Alexandria”, at Cittadellarte the start of a residency about culture, cooperation and planning
From 20 February to 3 March, Cittadellarte hosted the Caravan Residency Program, a new stage of the project "Alexandria: (re)activation of common urban imaginaries", conceived and implemented by UNIDEE Residency Programs, curated together with Edwin Nasr in conversation with Sarah Rifky and supported by the European Union's Creative Europe programme. From the context of Biella and Fondazione Pistoletto, the 16 international participants and the 5 social entrepreneurs worked together to compose, redesign and play with existing parts and elements that structure everyday life through a peripatetic format, with reference to Alexandria and other European and Mediterranean cities.

At Cittadellarte the residency following the open call “Artivism”, when art and sustainable fashion inspire social activism
Monday 1st to Saturday 6th November) for the ten artists/fashion designers selected through the call to action promoted by Fashion Revolution Italia and Cittadellarte. The participants – whose projects expressed a visionary and inspirational creativity – met with professionals and organisations from the sector, immersing themselves in the context of Fondazione Pistoletto and the wool territory.

Arte al Centro 2021: Cittadellarte lights up Biella with creativity and sustainability
The spaces of Fondazione Pistoletto have hosted the 23rd edition of the annual event featuring exhibitions, conferences and seminars dedicated to artistic practices of transformation of the social contexts in which they develop, carried out by Cittadellarte and the international network it has consolidated over the years. This edition offered open studios, exhibitions, talks, films and workshops: let us look back at the salient moments of the day, highlighting the key contents.

When ethics meets fashion: Cittadellarte has hosted a day of conferences dedicated to sustainability
Yesterday, Fondazione Pistoletto hosted two conferences on responsible fashion that started new networking processes between business representatives, fashion designers, lecturers and key figures in the sector: in the morning, "+ Ethics + Fashion" – organised by Accademia Unidee – launched a speculative investigation into the resonance of the fashion system in dealing with the theoretical concepts of sustainability and circularity present in contemporary global culture; in the afternoon, "Circular Threads" – curated by Tondo, Cittadellarte, Associazione Tessile e Salute and Rén – presented the first Italian study on the relationship between textile industry and circular economy.

Responsible fashion, an open studio by Flavia La Rocca for Fashion Revolution live from Cittadellarte
On Saturday 24th April, from 10 am to 6 pm, Flavia La Rocca will curate an online event as part of the Fashion Open Studio, a global initiative for the presentation and mentoring of Fashion Revolution. From the studios of Fashion B.E.S.T., the fashion designer will show how her garments are created, from the design to the model to the final dyeing.

“Community School: the academy for the education community”, the course for Biella’s teachers and educators has started
The course, curated by Cittadellarte, Tantintenti, Il Filo da Tessere and Associazionedidee, started on 5th March. The first edition of the initiative – part of the project Community School, promoted by Impresa Sociale Conibambini – aims at identifying and facing the issues arisen during the pandemic, keeping in mind the safety measures that need to be respected in the interest of public health.
