How will you dress?
I imagine a kind future, in which beauty will save us, as Dostoevskij said.
I imagine a future for fashion in which we’ll really manage at last to respect people and environment, generating profit, because I’d like for everybody to be able to support their families through their work. And this should apply to faraway places as well, where they produce our fashion at low cost; I wish everybody were paid fairly. I think that even the great fast fashion chains could do it: we could have a fairer fashion and companies could absorb the costs of paying workers appropriately by reviewing their profit margins. This way, democratic and fairly-made fashion can keep being bought by everybody, without consumers having to pay extra to ensure that workers have a dignified life and the environment is respected.
That’s what I’m expecting from the future: a fashion that has finally understood that justice is very important.
