What will you wear?
A year ago the world was moving fast, too fast, until it suddenly stopped because of the pandemic. It is now starting again, but in a radically changed and suffering condition.
In this age of hyper-connectivity and fast movements, it might be time to consider breathing at a lower rate and with full lungs.
It might be time to slow down our pace, but move faster with our intentions and awareness about the world we live in, about who we are as human beings.
We will dress more sustainably, adjusting and reducing productions, favouring quality.
We will buy less, but we will be more conscious of what we are buying.
We will use natural fibres and fabrics made from recycled and recyclable materials.
It’s time to value each figure contributing to creating an item of clothing, because it is important to recognise the worth of people and make sure they live and work in dignified conditions.
It’s also time to reacquire the craftsmanship that has always made Italian fashion stand out across the world and to re-establish tailor’s workshops, which have almost disappeared, so as not to lose our precious and inestimable hand-making skills for good.
Short supply chains, natural fibres, quality, sustainability, craftsmanship, awareness: this is what we will wear.
