The work behind the scenes of ‘The Human Tool’ (working title) is ongoing: the medium-length film directed by Nico Angiuli – curated by Cittadellarte and winner of MIBACT’s Italian Council Award – investigates the theme of humanization of ‘humanoid’ machines and the dehumanization of the human being. As mentioned in a previous article, seminars are being held with international guests from the fields the film will explore, allowing the actors already selected to get to know the issues of interest and start identifying with their characters. The work develops in fact through periods of residency and workshops, which have so far involved as speakers Rosario Sorbello (co-director of Roboticslab – the department of industrial and digital innovation of the University of Palermo), Albert Nikolla (executive director at Coherent Development Albania, Tirana) and Jean-René Bilongo (migration manager for Flai-Cgil).
Profile of the actor needed
Going back to the ground work for the film, Cittadellarte’s staff and the director Nico Angiuli are looking for an actor to play the role of Njeriu I Ri, who must be a man between 30 and 50 years old and an Albanian national residing in Piedmont or Lombardy with the following features: typical Mediterranean aspect, dark haired, quite tall but not robust, with marked and hard facial traits. Shooting will take place in Biella from 19th January 2019.
