The Art of Balance #32 | Saverio Teruzzi, what will you buy?

The artivator – cultural project manager and coordinator of the ambassadors of Cittadellarte’s project Rebirth/Third Paradise is the 32nd guest of the initiative “The Art of Balance / Pandemopraxy”. Francesco Saverio Teruzzi – a member of Fondazione Pistoletto’s communication team and Accademia Unidee’s orientation team – analyses the Coronavirus from the perspective of cause-effect relationship, reflecting on the impact the pandemic has had in global society and on how it has transformed our habits. Now, to restart, we don’t need a revolution but a change: “Today,” he claimed, “we don’t have the capitalism vs communism paradigm anymore, but the duopoly finance-consumerism, which – with the exception of a few areas still resisting the invasion – have practically won across the board. We therefore need a change, a slow and persistent movement able to impose different assumptions, different morals, a different civic sense on society”. Our guest concludes by illustrating possible practices of change he will personally apply.

The art of balance #31 | Anna Pironti and Paola Zanini, how will you travel?

The director and the project manager of the Educational Department of Castello di Rivoli Contemporary Art Museum are the 31st participants in the initiative “The Art of Balance / Pandemopraxy”. Anna Pironti and Paola Zanini start by describing their role: to welcome people of all ages to assist them in approaching the art of the present. Our two guests also explain why they call themselves “artenaut”, both inside and outside the artistic context: “We draw fully on the metaphor of the journey as an iconic and symbolic representation of the path of knowledge,” - they say, - “and we deal on a daily basis with the other, the new, the unknown and the mystery that every work carries with itself”. A complex process that, as they explain, is conveyed by passion and driven by words, gestures and sharing.

The art of balance #30 | Angelo Riva, what will you produce?

The Rebirth/Third Paradise ambassador is the 30th guest of “The Art of Balance / Pandemopraxy”, launched by Cittadellarte. Angelo Riva tells about some of the activities that have involved Lecco’s embassy in the front line, highlighting the peculiarities and the behind-the-scenes of the initiative “City4Care”, based on “prevention through the activation of the whole community for its care, people who have received care or are at risk preparing to look after the caregivers, the themes of art, food, meditation, the generational encounter between elderlies and children”. The ambassador also talks about a project to repurpose a centre of artistic production, which will be turned into a centre for the rehabilitation of patients suffering from the consequences of a stroke or from Parkinson’s disease.

The art of balance #29 | Luca Lagash, how will you act?

The producer and artist is the 29th guest of the initiative “The Art of Balance / Pandemopraxy”, launched by Cittadellarte. Luca Lagash tells about the musical projects he will be working on in the post-Coronavirus, and specifically about the impact the pandemic will have on the development of his relational work “#OP2020 Uno Di Un Milione (One of a million). “It’s obvious,” the bass player claimed, “that the Covid-19 experience has modified all our behaviours and interactions, and it is on this very transformation that ‘Uno Di Un Milione’ is centred, i.e. on how we will be able to rebuild the dimension of real community”. The author contextualises the peculiarities and talks about the behind-the-scenes of the musical and artistic work “#OP2020 Uno Di Un Milione”.

The art of balance #28 | Roberto Orsi, how will you act?

The managing director of Osservatorio Socialis – a newspaper and a study centre dedicated to social responsibility and sustainable development – is the 28th guest of Cittadellarte’s initiative “The Art of Balance / Pandemopraxy”. Roberto Orsi reflects on the post-pandemic society, specifying how Covid-19 has led to a new economic and existential vision of the world. “There’ll be a ‘before and after the Coronavirus,” he claimed, “the way there’s been a before and after Christ, a before and after the fall of the Roman Empire, a before and after the Second World War”. His contribution also focuses on the type of work his organisation will carry out, identifying three macro-objectives: promoting ‘sustainable stories’, supporting university projects, helping organisations build their new approach based on the platform www.csrcheck.it.

The art of balance #27 | Giorgio de Finis, who will you meet?

The Rebirth/Third Paradise ambassador and anthropologist (as well as curator and film director) is the 27th guest of “The Art of Balance / Pandemopraxy”, launched by Cittadellarte. Giorgio de Finis reflects on the impact the pandemic has had on social relations, and in particular on the change cities all over the world have gone through as a consequence of the spreading of Covid-19. “It’s undeniable,” he said, “that the virus has breached through the ‘social body’, causing, to different degrees but globally, a withdrawal in ourselves, a raising of shields, a diffidence that has been somehow justified as a slowing down, a taking time to reassess priorities, choose and ponder”.
