“The artist and the astronaut”, a meeting with Michelangelo Pistoletto and Paolo Nespoli in Fano
On Saturday 11 February, at 5.30 p.m., Fondazione Carifano's Reception Room will host a conference featuring the Biellese artist and the former astronaut as speakers. The event will be an opportunity for the two guests to retrace some of the stages of the VITA space mission – which had the Third Paradise as its official symbol – and to draw parallels between art and astronomy.

Discounted museum tickets: the “Artsupp Card” has been launched
As of today – 18 January – you can buy a special loyalty card offered by Artsupp, the portal dedicated to cultural institutions gathering on a single platform all the news from the world of Italian art and museums. Cittadellarte too is part of the network of museums participating in the initiative: card holders will be able to join guided tours of Fondazione Pistoletto at a reduced price.

When art meets sustainable fashion: the third edition of “Circulart” has been presented
The protagonists of this year’s edition are two international artists and two international fashion designers, selected through an open call launched by Cittadellarte: Augustina Bottoni, Lucia Chain, Huge Sillytoe and Rebecca Sforzani, young talents called upon to create a work with fabrics produced by partner companies, focusing on dialogue and on the enhancement of the textile industry production chain. “CirculART is a research and innovation format with which we have now been experimenting for three years,” said Paolo Naldini, director of Cittadellarte - Fondazione Pistoletto, “we start by identifying the challenges that companies deem as most urgent, and then explore possible lines of development with artists and experts from different sectors”.

Sustainable and art for society: Biella offers 20 full exemptions for Accademia Unidee’s three-year courses
Fondazione Pistoletto's Accademia Unidee, an institute of higher education based in Biella, created to build a sustainable vision of a possible balance between artifice and nature, is offering two three-year courses: one in Art for Social Sustainability and one in Sustainable Fashion. Exemptions (up to 100%) and scholarships are available to reward students’ motivation to attend its courses.

In Alghero, the “Laying of the foundation stone of the Third Paradise” in the Abbado-Legambiente grounds
The construction of a new installation of Michelangelo Pistoletto's trinamic symbol began on Wednesday 19 October, with the symbolic laying of the first stone, in an area redeveloped by Claudio Abbado currently entrusted to Legambiente, and within the framework of the AsviS (Italian Alliance for a Sustainable Development) Festival for Sustainable Development 2022. The process of creating the Third Paradise sees the active involvement of 377 Sardinian municipalities: each town will donate a block of typical local stone (discarded or salvaged) that will bring together – both physically and symbolically – the entire regional community with the aim of protecting, preserving and enhancing its territory. “It is an honour for us and for Sardinia,” said the Abbado family, 'that the first work on the ground represents the thought of the artist. With the dream of combining art and nature, we are working on the creation of two artistic and scientific committees'.

“Fourth Generation”, a solo exhibition by Michelangelo Pistoletto opens in Ljubljana
The exhibition project, presenting a cross-section of the main phases of the Biellese artist's work from the 1960s onwards, will open on 29 September at 7 pm at the Cukrarna Gallery. “With his projects, intellectual work, and genius for bringing people together,” said the organisers, “Pistoletto has left a highly distinctive mark on both the Italian and international cultural space”.

The Third Paradise is the official symbol of the 2022 “SUSTAINABLE FASHION AWARDS” at La Scala
Cittadellarte - Fondazione Pistoletto will assist the National Chamber of Italian Fashion in the new edition of the Sustainable Fashion Awards, scheduled for 25 September 2022 at La Scala in Milan. On the occasion, Michelangelo Pistoletto will serve as a member of the jury selecting the winners of the awards which honour virtuous people and businesses that have distinguished themselves in the world of Italian and international fashion for their commitment on the sustainability front.
