Third Paradise, the Rebirth ambassadors’ meeting at Cittadellarte
On Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 December the spaces of Fondazione Pistoletto will host a meeting that will see the participation of about a hundred Rebirth/Third Paradise ambassadors of different professional backgrounds and geographical provenance. In the course of the weekend, the participants will discuss how to concretely develop the trinamic symbol, each one in their own territory, but in a network coordinated by Cittadellarte, i.e. Michelangelo Pistoletto, Paolo Naldini (director of Cittadellarte) and Saverio Teruzzi (ambassador coordinator). “Some of them will be visiting Fondazione Pistoletto for the first time and it will be a bit like discovering a home,” said Teruzzi, “as well as an opportunity to get to know each other and explore who we are and the themes we share. It will also be a moment for considering the future, to which we can look with regenerated confidence thanks to the Third Paradise”. Let's discover the programme of the two-day event.

The Third Paradise is ready to bring together its ambassadors from all over the world and welcome them to its “home”: next weekend Cittadellarte will host the annual meeting, which will be attended by a hundred or so subjects who find inspiration in the trinamic symbol to bring art, sustainability and social innovation to their own context of provenance. The ambassadors represent the very idea of the symbol of the Third Paradise in the territory in which they primarily operate; this representative function entails a commitment to help produce and inspire a responsible transformation of society through creative ideas and projects. As stated on the Third Paradise official website, each ambassador implies their own professional and operational vocation, one or more fields of activity, specific approaches and dispositions relating to the person who decides to take on this role, but also to the socio-cultural and economic characteristics of the territory in which they live and work. The ambassadors assume this role, and the associated commitments, in accordance with the Charter of the Ambassadors, while the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations 2030 Agenda constitute an initial reference of the main areas in which the vocations of the embassies can be developed. The occasion is therefore not a mere celebration, but an opportunity for a collective discussion guided by Cittadellarte. The participants will discuss how to concretely develop the trinamic symbol, each in their own territory, but in a network coordinated by Michelangelo Pistoletto, Paolo Naldini (director of Cittadellarte) and Saverio Teruzzi (ambassador coordinator).

The programme will start on Saturday morning with a guided tour of the new exhibitions and spaces of Cittadellarte. After a light lunch, the event will get into full swing at 3.00 pm with a talk by Michelangelo Pistoletto entitled The Formula of Creation, also in reference to the title of his new book, due to be published in the next few days. The speech by the Biella-born artist will be followed at 3.30 pm by the start of the proceedings, with the conference A change of pace, from best practices to best policies, introduced by Paolo Naldini, with speeches by Edoardo Marcenaro (Inner Development Goals) and Carola Carazzone (Philanthropy and Social Transformation). At 4.00 pm will be the speed tables Raccontiamoci per contare (Let’s tell about ourselves to count), which are intended as cognitive moments useful to weave new relational and collaborative networks among the ambassadors. At 6.30 pm the day’s programme will conclude with Saverio Teruzzi‘s speech entitled 21.12.2012 – 21.12.2022 – The Reorganisation of the Embassies of the Third Paradise.

On Sunday, the event will resume with two presentations (from 9.30 to 10.30 am) on Accademia Unidee and on UNIDEE Residency Programs through the words of their project leaders and coordinators. This will be followed by a question time on the reorganisation of the Third Paradise embassies and, at 11.00 am, the demopractic tables Let’s plan for the future. After lunch, the day will end with a plenary feedback on what emerged from the previous debate and the guided tour. “In 2012, Michelangelo Pistoletto revolutionised the perspective through which we look at the world with a call for artists,” said Saverio Teruzzi, “and by making the symbol of the Third Paradise available to everyone, he did not tell us that we could all be artists, but that through art we could all take action to transform society in a responsible and sustainable way. With the institution of the first Rebirth Day, on 21 December 2012, Michelangelo projected us into the future, into one of the possible futures, into a future marked by that date; not the end of the world as attributed to the Mayan prophecy, but the beginning of a cultural regeneration based on action, on practice, on art at the centre of processes of growth and activation of communities. We have celebrated the Rebirth Day every year since. A celebration that thanks to the project of the Ambassadors of the Rebirth/Third Paradise has allowed the symbol and what it represents to reach all continents, 56 nations, more than 5 million people consciously activated and 1 space station. On 17 and 18 December,” he concluded, “some ambassadors will be visiting Fondazione Pistoletto for the first time and it will be a bit like discovering a home, as well as an opportunity to get to know each other and explore who we are and the themes we share. It will also be a moment for considering the future, to which we can look with regenerated confidence thanks to the Third Paradise”.
